Elevate public health in Alberta as a Zone Medical Officer of Health. This full time role involves clinical expertise in preventive medicine, disease control, and stakeholder collaboration in Edmonton or Calgary.
In this crucial position, you will act as a consultant on population health issues, leading efforts to monitor and improve public health. Reporting to the Zone Lead, your responsibilities will include enhancing community health through communicable disease control and responding to public health emergencies. You'll also support on-call coverage while mentoring others in public health practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Monitor and report on health of Albertans
• Conduct communicable disease prevention and control
• Develop public health policies and practice guidelines
• Manage relationships with health stakeholders
• Provide mentorship and education to healthcare professionals
Requirements:
• Medical Doctor (MD) with Public Health specialization
• CPSA licensure eligibility or current licensure
• Experience as a Medical Officer of Health preferred
• Proven project and stakeholder management skills
• Experience in Alberta's health system is an asset
