Our public sector client requires a Back-end Developer to develop applications on both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable back-end applications and services using Java and Spring Boot .

Develop and maintain REST APIs and integrate services through an API Gateway to support secure and productive system communication.

Design and implement event-driven applications and messaging solutions using Apache Kafka .

Develop business logic, application services, and integration components supporting enterprise applications and systems.

Collaborate with front-end developers, architects, business analysts, and technical teams to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions.

Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application, API,



integration, and messaging issues while ensuring performance, security, and reliability.

Participate in code reviews, testing, technical documentation, and CI/CD and DevOps activities following Agile development practices.

Must-Have Skills

Experience developing enterprise web applications using Java and Spring Boot.

Strong understanding of secure coding practices , application performance optimization, and Agile software development methodologies.

On-site work downtown Ottawa
