Practice Description The Kelowna General Hospital is recruiting within the Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology. Join a team of neurologists with a vision of exceptional neurological care for all. In Kelowna there are opportunities to thrive in medical education, research, quality improvement, and leadership. Our neurologists work with partners in Interior Health and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Southern Medical Program.
This position will include a combination of acute care coverage with our hospital-based neurology services and outpatient practice. We are interested in recruiting colleagues with an interest in general neurology practice as well as subspecialty interests. We have active clinical programs currently in stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neuro-ophthalmology and headache within our group. Kelowna General Hospital has diagnostic services including CT, MRI,
angiography, EEG and EMG.
The position includes participation in our hospital's neurology acute care on-call service. Our Division provides a neurology service and a stroke neurology service. The expected frequency of on-call coverage is 1:6 or less.
Our hospital is a teaching site in the UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program, and our Division members teach medical trainees at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. The successful candidate is encouraged to apply for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in the University of British Columbia Department of Medicine and to participate in clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and other trainees.
Training and sessional funding opportunities are available for quality improvement and other initiatives at our site. Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Health's NAVIG8 Program.
Terms Compensation Compensation Type Fee-for-Service Estimated Remuneration Annual billings of $300,000-$500,000 can be expected for a full time commitment, based on a combination of hospital-based and community practice. Actual income will vary depending on clinical activity and call participation.

Benefits and Incentives Relocation Funding Available $9,000 for moves within BC, 12,000 for moves within Canada, and 15,000 for those relocating from outside Canada, subject to maximum amounts and eligible receipts.
