Elementary Monitor Position The Elementary Monitor, reporting to the Principal, is responsible for providing a safe and clean workplace for students by supervising students who remain on the school grounds over the lunch hour. Our schools are located in geographical areas such as Seaforth, Exeter, St. Marys, Clinton, Goderich, Zurich, Stratford, Seaforth, Listowel, Wingham, Dublin, Kinkora, and Dashwood. Elementary Monitors are scheduled on an as-needed basis, Monday to Friday, with shift availability between the hours of 8:00am-3:00pm. The current hourly wage is $17.60 per hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation pay.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise students in the lunchroom and surrounding areas to ensure safety and proper behavior Assist students with minor tasks such as opening food containers and cleaning up spills or messes Help students transition back to class safely and efficiently after lunch Assist with special events or activities such as school-wide meals or themed lunches Promote inclusivity and a welcoming atmosphere for all students during their lunch breakQUALIFICATIONSExperience working with children Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to ensure the safety and security of students Ability to communicate with staff, students, and parents Responsible, caring, and approachable demeanor Ability to work as part of a teamIf you are interested in this position:Individuals wishing to apply for a Casual Elementary Monitor position are asked to submit their application through Apply to Education.
