Become an integral part of Community Development Council Durham as a Registered Early Childhood Educator. This role encompasses managing the Care for Newcomer Children Centre with a focus on child-centered activities and family support.
As a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE), you will report directly to the Manager at the Welcome Centre and Immigrant Services in Ajax. Your role involves overseeing day-to-day operations while ensuring compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act. You'll utilize various methodologies to support children aged 19 months to 6 years, fostering their growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Build relationships with community partners and families
• Maintain confidential child and family records
• Develop and lead age-appropriate activities
• Conduct center tours and guide enrollment processes
• Ensure safety and cleanliness standards at the center
Requirements:
• Diploma in Early Childhood Education
• Registered member of CECE in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of qualified experience with young children
• Experience working with immigrant families
• Valid first aid with CPR certification
