Position Summary: Students will engage with the generative and formative stages of the UX research process including concepts and techniques used to understand users and their needs, behaviours, tasks, goals, motivations, and challenges before designing solutions/interventions. Students will be introduced to key issues and practices in UX research, including methods for conducting ethical UX research and practices that are based on respect for Indigenous ways of knowing and being. Students will also learn appropriate mechanisms and processes for communicating research results to inform strategy and design decisions.

Qualifications – Required Academic Degree: Master’s Degree

Qualifications – Other

PhD with emphasis in User Experience, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Interaction Design or equivalent is preferred

Teaching experience at the college or university level or experience providing training in UX qualitative research or equivalent is required

Graduate level teaching experience is preferred

Applied qualitative research practice involving human subjects or equivalent is required

Commitment to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the classroom is preferred

Currency with industry best practices and tools relevant to the course is preferred
