Holter Technician Assistant

We are growing and with 100+ team members we are seeking Holter Technician Assistants to attach portable heart monitors to patients, teach them how to record data during normal daily life, and ensure the equipment functions properly to provide outstanding cardiac care for our community and beyond.

Responsibilities

Patient Preparation: Greet patients, verify identity, and explain the testing process clearly.

Electrode Placement: Clean skin sites and place ECG electrodes accurately on the patient's chest for optimal tracing quality.

Device Hookup: Attach, test, and initialize the Holter monitor or ambulatory cardiac device.

Patient Education: Instruct patients on diary keeping, symptom logging, and device care during the 24, 48, 72-hour, 7 or 14 day monitoring window.

Equipment Maintenance:



Clean, disinfect, troubleshoot, and maintain monitoring hardware and accessories. Document return of monitors upon return.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma plus completion of a medical assistant or ECG training program an asset

Basic understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and elementary ECG/arrhythmia interpretation

Ability to use EMR proficiently

Ability to follow emergency protocols

Excellent communication skills when interacting with patients and physicians

Knowledge of patient confidentiality guidelines

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues with equipment or procedures

Ability to work effectively as part of the Holter team and collaboratively with One Heart Care employees

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

Adherence to PHIPA (Personal Health Information Protection Act)
