Ironwood Place is a 54-unit senior's assisted living community. This program provides a range of hospitality and care services that promote independence, choice and dignity to the seniors who live there. Beginning this Fall, Rivercity Inclusion will assume responsibility for delivering nursing and care services at Ironwood Place. This is a significant milestone for our organization and reflects Rivercity Inclusion's continued commitment to delivering high-quality services to the people we support.

Working independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team, the Licensed Practice Nurse provides personal care, performs nursing procedures, conducts resident visits, and completes assessments to ensure quality client care. The role assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care at Ironwood Place assisted living in accordance with the competency guidelines within the Professional Standards outlined by the appropriate provincial licensing body and the current legislative scope of practice.

The Licensed Practical Nurse also supersedes Care Aides by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback on performance, and new employee orientations.

Requirements

Graduation from an approved Licensed Practical Program

Current Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing LPN registrant

Minimum of one year's experience working in home and community care, or assisted living

Negative TB test results

Consent to criminal record check

Qualifications / Knowledge / Skills

Ability to work as a productive and interactive team member

Ability to be organized, adaptable and work with minimal supervision

Ability to act in an appropriate, professional manner at all times

Ability to deal effectively and calmly in crisis situations
