Job Description: This position reports to the Commander/Manager of Regional Communications and in his/her absence the Communications Superintendent/Deputy. The roles and responsibilities include working in concert with call-evaluators and communication deployment specialists, while working within the EMD scope of practice. This employee will provide IFT processing, emergency medical dispatching,



pre‑arrival instructions and deployment of emergency vehicles in emergent and non‑emergent situations.

Human Resources Exemption: No

Education

- certification as a Basic Telecommunicator with the Association of Public Safety

- Grade 12

- Emergency Medical Dispatch Certification

Other Education and Training

- Current CPR Level C

Knowledge and Abilities

- Minimum typing (keyboarding) speed of 40 wpm.
