Support Indigenous communities as a Street Outreach Worker with Mamaweswen, The North Shore Tribal Council in Sault Sainte Marie, ON. Leverage your social services experience to assist those experiencing homelessness.
This full time role offers an annual salary between $50,000 and $55,000 and requires a proactive individual to serve as a bridge for community members needing social services. The Street Outreach Worker will monitor individual service plans, conduct assessments, and collaborate with First Nations and external organizations for culturally appropriate services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Connect homeless individuals with relevant Anishnabe services
• Develop and assess community member Service/Action Plans
• Facilitate Mino Bimaadizidaa curriculum for life stabilization
• Work with First Nations and external organizations
• Conduct self-assessments for service pathways
Requirements:
• Preferred registered band member of serviced First Nations
• 2-5 years of experience in social services
• Certification in First Aid and CPR
• Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector Check
• Valid Class “G” Driver's License
