SuperThrift

Adult and Teen Challenge SuperThrift is a vital part of the Adult & Teen Challenge organization, dedicated to providing financial support for life-changing programs that help people overcome life-controlling addictions through a faith-based approach. SuperThrift is more than a store, it’s a community hub dedicated to supporting individuals on their journey to recovery from addiction. Position Summary

This role is responsible for the ownership and day to day management of SuperThrift and will work under the direction of the District Manager. They will be responsible for leading and overseeing supervision for staff, students, and volunteers through all aspects of store operations. The position is responsible for meeting sales and production targets and for the overall store success.





This role will ensure all individuals working and volunteering at SuperThrift are trained and executing work to the best of their abilities while providing excellent customer service and ensuring positive customer relations.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership- Managing, leading, mentoring, training, and developing staff, students and volunteers.

- Lead and direct store supervisors and managers.

- Goal setting for all staff and leadership and overall store performance.

- Employee performance management, coaching, and development.

- Completion and presentation of employee performance appraisals.

- Managing daily staff levels and move staff around as required to support operations.

Store

Operations - Recruiting, hiring, and staffing all positions within the store.

- Staff and volunteer scheduling and attendance management.

- Ensure excellence in retail store functions, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, product flow, security, and overall cleanliness.

- Support loss prevention efforts, including being the point person for store security.

- Ordering and maintenance of required products and supplies.

- Ensuring merchandising standards are met.

- Manage rag out and write off process.

Customer Service- Ensure positive customer relations while cultivating customer loyalty. - Ensure all customers, donors, and visitors receive courteous, friendly, and efficient service from all staff, students, and volunteers.- Resolve customer concerns in a professional and respectful manner.

Donation and Inventory Management- Ensure excellence in intake, sorting, pricing, and display of donated merchandise to maximize sales and maintain stock levels.

- Work in collaboration with the production manager as required - if applicable.

- Work in collaborations with other company departments and staff regarding donations and product movement.

- Manage inventory volumes including new stock in and old stock out, while ensuring new product is placed on the sales floor every day.

- Execute markdowns and rag outs as required.

Financial Oversight- Reporting, including sales and relevant store metrics. - Adherence to pre-set budgets.- Handle bank deposits and daily cash handling. - Drive sales and production targets.- Ensure accurate and consistent product pricing. - Conduct audits and have strong systems in place for inventory management.





Compliance- Ensure the store operates in compliance with all organizational policies, safety standards, and local regulations.- Ensure all required staff and volunteer training is completed and up to date.

Mission Integration- Serve as a positive role model and integrate the mission of Adult & Teen Challenge into daily store operations.

Additional Responsibilities - Other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience and Credentials- High School Diploma or equivalent.

- Post secondary education in relevant field considered an asset.

- Minimum five (5) years experience in retail management required.

- Experience working in thrift, not for profit, or other similar type roles preferred.

- Experience with and a strong understanding of POS systems.

- Experience with and a strong understanding of computer system and administrative functions such as reporting, ordering, and inventory management.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a clear Vulnerable Sector Clearance.

Work Environment - The position involves a physical component including but not limited to bending, lifting up to 25lbs, twisting, reaching, walking, extended periods of standing, and using stairs.

- Use of safety equipment as required.

- Possible exposure to allergens, such as dust, pet hair or dander, and strong scents.

- Versatile schedule including working days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

- Contact with other staff, program students, volunteers, and the general public.
