Description
the company Inc. is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to support our advanced automotive manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for the fabrication, modification, and repair of custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and precision components used in high-performance production equipment.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in CNC programming, setup, and precision machining, with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work closely with Engineering and Maintenance to support continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers the chance to grow within advanced automotive tooling and production support, including potential progression into CNC Programming, Tool & Die, or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering roles.
Key Responsibilities
Tooling & Fixture Fabrication
Manufacture custom tooling, fixtures, jigs, and prototype components to support production machinery
Modify and repair existing tooling to improve reliability, precision, and cycle efficiency
Collaborate with Engineering to interpret designs and optimize manufacturability
CNC Programming & Machining
Read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and 3D models
Program CNC equipment using CAD/CAM software and machine controls (Autodesk Inventor experience required)
Set up and operate CNC milling, turning, drilling, boring, lathe and grinding equipment
Perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations
Precision Measurement & Quality Assurance
Verify machined components using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision instruments
Maintain strict adherence to tolerances and quality standards
Identify and report deviations from specifications
Machine Maintenance & Shop Support
Perform basic preventative maintenance on machine shop equipment
Maintain tooling inventory and assist in tool life optimization
Support troubleshooting efforts related to tooling or fixture performance issues
Continuous Improvement
Participate in process improvement initiatives
Recommend design enhancements to improve tooling durability and production efficiency
Support new product launches and equipment integration
Qualifications
3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong experience machining tooling and custom fixtures
Proficiency in CNC programming and setup
Experience with AutoCAD / Autodesk Inventor or equivalent CAD software
Familiarity with Mitsubishi or Fanuc control systems preferred
Strong mechanical knowledge and hands‑on aptitude
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and complex tolerances
High attention to detail and quality standards

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour
