Job Description:
Tax Services is responsible for managing TDBG’s corporate tax matters, including tax planning, compliance, reporting, strategy, governance, and liaison with revenue authorities.
Reporting to a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager in the Canadian Income Tax Compliance and Reporting team, the Senior Tax Analyst is responsible for supporting Canadian income tax compliance, tax reporting and analysis, and audits for certain TD Canadian companies.
Responsibilities:
Compute and analyze monthly, quarterly, and year-end income tax provisions, reporting requirements, and tax disclosures.
Maintain and analyze deferred tax inventories and continuity schedules.
Prepare and post tax journal entries, and analyze tax general ledger continuity in compliance with internal attestation requirements.
Prepare federal and provincial income tax and capital tax returns and schedules.
Calculate and optimize tax instalments and make payments as required.
Update process documentation and comply with SOX protocols and attestation requirements.
Analyze and provide support for business forecasting and planning initiatives.
Analyze and respond to audit queries from tax authorities and external auditors.
Conduct research and analysis on accounting and tax matters.
Provide support for tax advice and tax planning, where appropriate.
Lead and support ad hoc projects, including process improvement initiatives.
Education, Accreditations, Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
University degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
An accounting designation, or progress toward completion, is preferred.
Three or more years of experience in corporate tax compliance and reporting is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Highly adaptable, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
Proficiency in Excel and data analytics tools.
Organized, self-motivated, customer-oriented, and able to work effectively both independently and within a team.
