Seven EuroPeers from different national networks came together in Tallinn, Estonia, from 16 to 20 July 2026 for the WIKI Working Group Kick-Off Hackathon.

The EuroPeers Network is taking another step forward with the development of an international EuroPeers Wiki, a collaborative space where members from different national networks can share knowledge, exchange good practices and learn from one another.

Following the open call, six EuroPeers joined the Working Group and, together with their team leader, Lukas, formed the seven-member core team that met in Tallinn.

Getting ready for the hackathon

One week before the event, the group met online to get to know each other, discuss expectations and define their initial goals and responsibilities.

This helped the team arrive in Tallinn with a clear plan and ready to focus on both the structure and the technical development of the Wiki.

The hackathon served as the official kick-off of the Working Group. Alongside team-building activities, the participants co-created objectives, agreed on ways of working and became familiar with the technical side of creating and editing Wiki pages.

For some participants, working with a Wiki platform was completely new. More experienced members supported the group in learning how to create, structure and edit content, making the process a real peer-to-peer learning experience.

Learning, creating and exploring Tallinn The international coordinators Peeter Lusmägi and Kai-Ines Nelson welcomed the participants to Tallinn and supported the group throughout the week.





The programme also included time to discover the city together, with a tour of Tallinn’s Old Town and visits to the Estonian Open Air Museum and the Estonian Maritime Museum.

These moments gave the group the chance to recharge, spend time together outside the working sessions and strengthen the connections within the team.

Even with only three full working days, the group managed to achieve more than initially planned.

What should the EuroPeers Wiki become?

Once the technical introduction was completed, the brainstorming began.

The Team Explored Questions Such As

- What should the Wiki make possible?
- What information should be available there?
- What sections does it need?
- What challenges within the network could it help address?
- How can other EuroPeers be encouraged to contribute?

To make sure the platform reflects the needs of the wider network, the Working Group also created a questionnaire and collected perspectives from other EuroPeers. The feedback helped the team move from ideas to practical implementation.

From ideas to real pages

By the third working day, the group started creating the first Wiki pages and developing an initial content structure.

The first categories include information about National Agencies,



EuroPeers Working Groups, resources, activities, history, how-to guides, onboarding for new EuroPeers, Annual Network Meetings and community guidelines.

More sections will be added as the Wiki continues to grow.

The team will also develop templates that future contributors can use, helping to keep the platform clear, consistent and easy to navigate.

What comes next?

Before leaving Tallinn, the Working Group agreed on how to continue the work remotely.

Tasks were divided, deadlines were set and the next online meeting was scheduled for the end of August.

The team will continue developing pages, improving the structure of the Wiki and preparing guidelines for future contributors.

One of the next steps will also be an open call for early contributors, with the aim of involving EuroPeers from different national networks in shaping the platform from an early stage.

Only the beginning The seven EuroPeers arrived in Tallinn with many questions about what the EuroPeers Wiki could become.

They left with a shared vision, a first content structure, real pages already in development and a transparent plan for the months ahead.

Building the Wiki will take time and collaboration from across the network, but the kick-off hackathon created an important foundation for a platform designed to collect, preserve and share the knowledge and experiences of the EuroPeers community.

Because the EuroPeers Wiki is not simply being created for the network.

It is being built by the network.
