Pacific Northern Gas Ltd. (PNG), a subsidiary of TriSummit Utilities Inc., owns and operates natural gas transmission and distribution systems in British Columbia’s lower Peace River, west central, and north coast regions. PNG’s western transmission line extends from the Enbridge gas transmission system north of Prince George along the Highway 16 and Highway 37 south corridors to Terrace and then onto the port communities of Kitimat and Prince Rupert, providing transportation and gas services to twelve communities and a number of industrial facilities. In the Province’s northeast, Pacific Northern Gas (N.E.) Ltd. provides gas transmission and distribution service in the Dawson Creek, Fort St.

John and Tumbler Ridge areas.

Reporting to the Manager, Operations West, this position is based in Burns Lake, BC. The Superintendent, Construction & Maintenance leads the Construction & Maintenance department and is accountable for the safe, efficient, and reliable execution of construction and maintenance activities supporting the Company's distribution and transmission systems.

KEY Responsibilities:

- Represent the Company in a professional and respectful manner with employees, contractors, Indigenous communities, regulatory agencies, municipal authorities, emergency response organizations, customers, and other stakeholders. Maintain clear, timely, and effective communication while promoting safety leadership, environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and positive stakeholder relationships.

- Build and maintain an engaged workforce through effective communication, employee involvement, coaching, recognition, and skills development.
- Accountable for construction and maintenance activities within the assigned area, ensuring work is delivered safely, reliably, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
- Provide leadership and direction to Group Leads and field employees in the execution of construction and maintenance activities for distribution and transmission facilities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Company policies, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure required permits, approvals, and commitments are in place before work begins. Ensure activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Company and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the execution of integrity-related maintenance activities, including transmission and distribution repairs, right-of-way maintenance, vegetation management, leak survey programs, and pipeline patrols. Support the IDP Superintendent in the delivery of the Integrity Dig Program and ensure appropriate documentation and record management.
- Oversee the planning, execution,



and completion of preventative and corrective maintenance programs. Provide subject matter expertise and support for Maximo.
- Lead departmental safety initiatives, ensuring construction and maintenance activities are performed safely and in accordance with Company policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Ensure environmental requirements and commitments are met and play a key role in emergency preparedness and emergency response activities.
- Develop and manage departmental operating and capital budgets for construction and maintenance activities. Monitor expenditures, report on budget performance and variances, and implement mitigation and recovery plans to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Prepare reports on departmental performance, key issues, project and maintenance activities, progress toward objectives, and upcoming priorities.
- Ensure construction and maintenance records, as-built documentation, project completion reports, accruals, and other required records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with Company requirements.
- Lead direct reports, including performance management, probationary and competency reviews, coaching, mentoring, development, and support investigations and disciplinary processes, as required.
- Work with the Training Coordinator to ensure employees maintain required qualifications, competencies, and certifications.
- Perform Manager On-Call duties on a rotational basis, including monitoring system operations, supporting emergency response activities, and coordinating operational resources as required.
- Provide relief coverage for Superintendent positions in other operating areas as required.

- Strong technical aptitude, including the ability to review and interpret engineered drawings, construction specifications, work packages, and operating procedures.

Experience & Qualifications

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in construction, maintenance, utility, or industrial operations, including at least 5 years leading teams, supervisors, or operational work groups.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline, including trade certification in a recognized trade, is considered an asset. Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience in construction, maintenance, utility, or industrial operations will be considered.
- Technical knowledge of pipeline construction, maintenance, and operations.
- Experience leading construction, maintenance, and operational activities across a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Experience providing leadership and oversight for construction, maintenance, and operational activities across multiple work locations and a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Proficiency with Maximo, Microsoft Office applications, and other business systems used to support operational planning, work management, reporting, training, and field operations.
