Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) has an opening for a Supervisor, Hearing Care Counselling. Reporting to the Manager, Hearing Care Counselling, the Supervisor provides leadership and support to counselling staff, ensuring services are delivered in accordance with organizational standards, professional practice requirements, and funder expectations.
This role will provide clinical and operational leadership to a provincially dispersed team, supporting staff in the delivery of person-centered services to Deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, and older adult clients. The role includes performance management, staff development, consultation on complex client situations, monitoring program outcomes, and ensuring compliance with professional standards, policies, and legislative requirements. A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required as this position will require travel to Toronto, as well as other locations within Ontario periodically
This will be a permanent, full-time position, working Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
This posting is due to this being a new position.
The ideal candidate will have Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Gerontology, or a related human services field, a minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in counselling, program administration, staff supervision, or healthcare service delivery. Have demonstrated experience providing counselling consultations, performance management, and staff supervision; and a strong knowledge of counselling practices, case management, and professional standards within a healthcare or community services environment.
You have excellent interpersonal, communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills. Proven leadership in supervising, mentoring, and developing diverse teams. Demonstrated knowledge of issues affecting Deaf, deafened, and hard of hearing individuals, including older adults with acquired hearing loss.
Demonstrated knowledge of communication access tools, assistive technologies, and accessibility practices. Knowledge of Ontario's health and social service systems and applicable legislation. Demonstrated sound clinical judgment, ethical decision-making, and a person-centered, strengths-based approach to service delivery.
Solid skills in report writing, presentation development, advocacy, and stakeholder relationship management.
