UBC is seeking a knowledgeable Research Assistant/Technician to join the Gaynor Lab for an 8-month part time position. You'll assist in researching large mammals' behavior and ensure data integrity, requiring skills in ecology, data science, and experimental design. Your role involves both technical tasks and collaboration with various lab personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee organization of physical and digital lab materials
• Conduct data quality control and manage research databases
• Perform literature reviews to support ongoing research
• Order lab supplies and maintain inventory
• Develop and update protocols and expense reports
Requirements:
• High school graduation with additional training
• Minimum two years of related experience
• Strong knowledge of ecological research methods
• Familiarity with R programming and GitHub
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
