Description Hours of Work: Temp. Sun.- Thurs. 7p-11:15p (42.5 hrs. biweekly) (Grand Manor)
The job responsibilities are as follows:
Providing safe, competent, and ethical client care to their full scope of practice and within the requirements of their regulatory college Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics.
Ensuring that nursing knowledge is current and possessing the necessary knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and clinical judgment to fulfil their role.
Identifying when HCAs require assistance, competency, and/or assignment is beyond their education and/or ability and ensuring assistance is sought out.
Demonstrating leadership within the health-care team through supervision and mentoring of Health Care Aides.
Participating in complaint resolution with the team, clients, family members,



or others and ensuring the complaint is addressed or communicated to the appropriate person to ensure follow-up is completed.
Developing the therapeutic nurse-client relationship and applying the ethical framework of this relationship.
Adhering to all legal requirements of nursing practice and documentation.
Maintaining client confidentiality in written, oral and electronic communication.
Supporting the health care aids in progressing their competencies and delegating tasks to them as needed and within their competencies.
Contributing to a culture of safety, identifying safety concerns, and ensuring safety concerns are addressed.
Performing ongoing evaluation throughout delivery of care.
Requirements
Current and active registration in valuable standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Alberta.
Maintain certification in First Aid & CPR Level C
Satisfactory current criminal record check.
