Our client, a custom manufacturer is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead the purchasing function.

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing raw materials, components, and production-related goods to support manufacturing operations. You will manage supplier relationships, inventory levels, purchasing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives while leading a team of two. Working closely with Production, Engineering, Warehousing and Sales you will ensure material availability, cost control and operational efficiency. As the primary procurement leader within the business, you will play a key role in supporting growth and driving process improvements across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will bring 5 to7+ years of Purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment,



with a strong background in purchasing materials and components for production. Experience supporting custom, engineered or made-to-order manufacturing operations is highly preferred. You will possess strong negotiation, supplier management and inventory planning skills, along with the ability to influence stakeholders and build effective cross-functional relationships. Success in this role requires a hands-on leader who is proactive, results-driven and comfortable operating in a fast-paced small business workplace where collaboration, accountability, and strong communication are essential.
