The prospect Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Manager will provide strategic financial leadership to the organization, overseeing financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, compliance, and cost management to support operational performance and long-term business growth. Working closely with Operations, Supply Planning, Accounting, and senior leadership, the Finance Manager will serve as a trusted business partner, delivering meaningful financial insights that support informed decision-making, improve profitability, and drive continuous improvement across the organization. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining strong internal controls, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements, overseeing day-to-day financial operations, and leading the finance team in support of the company's evolving business needs.
Key Responsibilities Financial Planning & Analysis Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes aligned with organizational objectives.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning, margin improvement initiatives, and operational decision-making.
Analyze financial and operational performance, identify trends and key variances, and recommend corrective actions.
Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial and operational performance.
Deliver actionable financial insights that improve profitability, resource allocation, and overall business performance.
Business Planning & Strategic Support Act as a trusted financial advisor to Operations, Supply Planning, Accounting, and senior leadership.
Support strategic initiatives, including cost optimization, productivity improvements, capital investments, pricing decisions, and business planning.
Conduct profitability analyses and evaluate the financial impact of key business initiatives.
Lead regular business reviews, communicating financial performance, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to leadership.
Financial Reporting, Controls & Compliance Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the business, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient financial processes.
Partner with the corporate accounting team to support accurate period-end close activities and financial reporting.
Prepare and review management reporting, financial statements, variance analyses, dashboards, and ad hoc financial reporting.
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with GAAP, applicable tax legislation, corporate policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal and external audits while identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation, and operational efficiency.
Leadership & Team Development Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
Provide leadership and guidance to accounting, billing, project accounting, and financial analysis staff.
Establish clear performance expectations while supporting ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
Promote collaboration across finance and operational teams to achieve organizational objectives.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or another related business discipline.
CPA designation is required; CFA designation will also be considered.
5-10+ years of progressive financial and accounting leadership experience.
Experience supporting operational businesses within manufacturing, marine, industrial, logistics, transportation, shared services, or similarly complex environments is considered an asset.
Demonstrated experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, cost analysis, and business performance management.
Proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and influence decision-making across multiple business functions.
Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
Advanced proficiency with ERP systems, Microsoft Excel, and financial reporting tools.
Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights.
