As a Storeperson based in Richmond, BC, you will play a critical role in supporting the safe and efficient operation of the Canada Line transit system by ensuring the accurate receipt, storage, control, and distribution of materials and equipment. Working closely with procurement, maintenance, engineering, and operations teams, you will manage inventory transactions, coordinate shipments, maintain warehouse organization, and ensure critical parts and supplies are readily available when needed. Your attention to detail, inventory management expertise, and commitment to safety will help maintain operational reliability, support maintenance activities, and contribute to the seamless delivery of transit services for the communities we serve.
Your role Receive, inspect, and process inbound and outbound shipments, coordinate pickups and deliveries, and notify the Procurement Manager of any discrepancies.
Maintain accurate inventory records in JDE and SharePoint, including inventory transactions, shipment logs, uniform issuance records, barcoding, item location assignments, and other warehouse documentation.
Manage inventory levels by monitoring stock, analyzing reorder points, preparing inventory reports, and conducting daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory counts while reconciling discrepancies.
Ensure proper storage, organization,
and control of inventory, including maintaining access controls for hazardous material storage areas.
Receive and process non-conforming materials from engineering, maintain RMA records in SharePoint, and coordinate dispositions in accordance with RMA notifications.
Maintain warehouse facilities, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition, both inside and outside the warehouse.
Prepare daily activity logs, maintain accurate records and files, and perform other related duties as assigned.
About you 3+ years of experience in warehousing, inventory control and supply chain related activities, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
Must have a valid Class 5 BC driving license and ability to complete driver training program for operation of company vehicles.
Successfully complete the equipment training program to operate a forklift, overhead crane and pallet jack.
Be comfortable with physically demanding work.
Strong knowledge and skills in MS Office Suite and JDE/Oracle/SAP/People Soft System or other ERP system is an asset.
Must be able to work in an environment that includes handling and potential exposure to batteries, cleaning agents, and other hazardous materials in accordance with company safety procedures.
Hourly training Rate $42.97 /Hourly Fully-qualified Rate of Pay $50.55 / Hour
