Become a vital part of UTRCA as a Dam Maintenance Mechanic, ensuring critical water control structures are safe and functional. This full-time role involves routine and emergency maintenance with some on-call requirements.
Located in London with travel throughout the watershed, this position requires extensive experience in mechanical equipment maintenance. You'll partner with contractors and agencies to address both preventive and reactive repairs, ensuring productive operation of UTRCA’s facilities. Your expertise will contribute to the protection of communities, specifically focusing on maintaining water control mechanisms for a healthy watershed ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain water control structures in safe and effective condition
• Perform routine and emergency maintenance on equipment
• Respond to flood and emergency situations as needed
• Collaborate with contractors and provide site supervision
• Offer technical guidance on mechanical and electrical matters
Requirements:
• Over 7 years of hands-on mechanical experience
• Relevant trade license, Industrial Mechanic preferred
• Experience in welding and fabricating
• Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude
• Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License
