Part-Time Special Needs Caregiver / Nanny Needed for 3 Children in West Springs, SW Calgary

Located in West Springs, SW Calgary.

Looking for a part-time special needs caregiver / nanny for my 3 children, ages 3, 5, and 6.

Hours are Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Some weekend hours may also be available for family outings or activities such as the pool or zoo. If we do weekend outings, I will be there as well, so this would be extra support rather than full solo care.

Starting pay is $25/hour (negotiable)

My two boys have Level 2 autism and my daughter has ADHD. My daughter has a short attention span, loves imaginative play, and is very girly. I am looking for someone who is kind, patient, energetic, and who genuinely enjoys playing with children, not just supervising them.

Experience with autism and ADHD is very important. I need someone who understands how to keep children engaged, support transitions, and create a fun, safe, and supportive environment for all 3 kids.

Patience is especially important because my children’s speech can be hard to understand at times. This is a sensitive area for them, and it has taken a lot to build their confidence. They continue to receive speech therapy, so I need someone who will always be respectful, encouraging, and never make fun of the way they speak.

Basic cooking skills are required. Nothing complicated, just simple things like heating up chicken nuggets, making bacon, rice, or mac and cheese.

I work from home, so I am usually available to help when needed, unless I am in a meeting or working against a strict deadline.

We have a basement full of toys,



so there is plenty of space for someone who truly enjoys getting down and playing with the kids.

We also have a black Havanese puppy. I usually keep her with me or in her playpen, but I do need someone who is comfortable around pets. My youngest especially loves rescuing her and letting her out, so being at ease with a small dog is significant.

I would love to take my kiddos to the pool more often, but for safety reasons I need an extra set of hands and eyes to help manage all 3 children. Because of that, I am looking for someone who can swim confidently and is comfortable with heights, since my kids love the tall water slides.

If we do outings or activities that require admission, those costs would be paid by me.

An ideal fit would be someone who:

- has hands-on experience supporting children with autism and ADHD
- enjoys active, interactive play
- can help safely manage all 3 children during outings
- is patient, kind, and respectful
- has basic cooking skills
- is comfortable around dogs
- is reliable and interested in building a consistent part-time relationship with our family

I would like to start with a paid trial shift to make sure it is a good fit for everyone, and then decide from there.
