Branch Manager II
The Branch Manager II is accountable for providing leadership and direction to a team of financial services and sales professionals while supporting Meridian’s mission statement. The incumbent will be responsible for the overall growth of the portfolio by proactively promoting Meridian’s profile and expanding local market share, while maintaining a passion for customer service and exceeding customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Set long- and short-term business development and sales objectives in conjunction with the District Vice President to ensure achievement of targets.
- Achieve specific business development objectives while controlling risk, expenses and maintaining revenues to plan.
- Develop and maintain revenue-generating Member relationships by calling on existing and prospective Members, identifying prospects, determining their needs and recommending appropriate products/services.
- Provide regular reports and updates on competitive market intelligence, market situations, Member needs and interests, and potential for current products and services.
- Partner with Commercial Account Managers, Cash Management Specialists, Senior Small Business Advisors and Senior Wealth Advisors to generate deposits and relationship growth, share best practices, and make referrals as appropriate.
- Provide integrated delivery of financial services and products, including customized lending, cash management, and investment management with thorough knowledge of all Meridian products and services.
- Actively promote the development of Centres of Influence (COI) as sources of referral business through local business contact and community organization participation.
- Implement Corporate marketing programs to support business development objectives and achieve balanced growth of the book of business.
Branch Management
- Demonstrate effective leadership by empowering performance, giving constructive coaching,
and building a positive team atmosphere.
- Model Meridian’s corporate values consistently and foster pride, cooperation, teamwork, ownership, and personal responsibility.
- Act as a change agent and strong communicator, adapting style to gain understanding and commitment from others.
- Utilize well-developed coaching skills and diverse techniques to support achievement of desired goals.
- Share knowledge and support teammates’ development goals.
Employee Engagement
- Develop and implement branch strategies, goals and objectives to achieve high Member service standards, business retention, profitable growth, and productivity.
- Lead branch activities aimed at portfolio, Member and new business development.
- Ensure employees are coached to review and follow up on Member activity and information regularly.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and Members, demonstrate empathy, resolve conflicts, remain objective and communicate openly and honestly.
Community Engagement
- Act as an ambassador within the local community, promoting the Meridian brand.
- Recognize strategic opportunities under the Good Neighbour Program and develop, execute, and participate in community activities.
- Maintain a highly visible presence through civic volunteer and community work.
- Provide seminars or workshops on various credit union products and promotions.

- Willingness to travel throughout the Niagara region and the province for business development.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours for Member meetings, networking, and community involvement.

Education, Experience & Certifications
- Previous experience in a relevant financial services environment, including personal account management, investment and lending products, advanced credit and interviewing techniques, and underwriting skills.
- Post‑Secondary education in business or a related field; IFIC, CSC or CFP may be required.
Salary Range
CAD $90,000 – $99,000 annually (based on skills, experience and internal equity).
