We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager for our Greenhouse facility in Sombra, ON. The Manager is responsible for repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations. You will also be responsible for developing, refining and administering maintenance qualification and training programs.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations Responsible for promoting spirit of teamwork and productivity among maintenance personnel in accordance with Green Empire Farms system.
- Develops, refines and administers maintenance qualification and training programs.
- Develops, refines, and administers plant maintenance procedures.




- Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
- Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with maintenance staff.
- Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
- Directs maintenance activities on utility systems to provide continuous supply of heat, steam, electric power, gas, or air required for operations.
- Directs workers and contractors engaged in buildings and grounds maintenance activities, such as snow and ice removal, mowing lawns, removing weeds, and raking and disposing of leaves and refuse.
- Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
- Keeping a record of all day-to-day maintenance and service activities undertaken in a facility.
- Evaluating the performance of the subordinates.
- Complying with all corporate policies, Food Safety Policies, GMP and the Occupational Safety and health administration rules (OSHA) while carrying out maintenance functions.
- Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations in line with Food Safety and GMP guidelines.
- Confers with management,



production and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
- Prepares department budget and monitors expenditure of funds in budget.
- Read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Correspond with various departments in the form of writing routine reports and correspondence.

Education/Background Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or Trade School or Certification program required.
- At least five years of related plant maintenance experience or equivalent required.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

- Requires a thorough understanding of all aspects of plant maintenance, and a good working knowledge of electrical, carpentry, and plumbing.
- Requires strong verbal and written communications skills, and interpersonal skills necessary to supervise nonexempt personnel.

Working Conditions:

- Setting includes an expansive newly erected warehouse, where the temperature averages 50°F. The background noise approaches 70 dcbs.
- Must be able to lift 30 pounds.

Compensation:

$80,000 per year - Current Opening
