Shape the future of construction education as an Instructor in the Construction Worker Prep program at the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies. This position is focused on delivering hands-on training to aspiring construction workers.
The Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies seeks a passionate Construction Worker Prep Instructor who will guide students in learning essential skills for both residential and commercial construction. Responsibilities include organizing instructional materials, assessing student progress, and nurturing a diverse and positive learning atmosphere. You will also adhere to SIIT's academic standards while promoting inclusivity in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver hands-on workshops in construction and tool usage
• Complete required evaluations and course documentation
• Use effective assessment techniques for student progress
• Foster a respectful and diverse classroom culture
• Advise on course modifications as necessary
Requirements:
• Certification as a Red Seal Journeyperson Carpenter required
• Experience in the construction industry essential
• Knowledge of Indigenous cultures valued
• Familiarity with adult education methods considered advantageous
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
