Analyst - Treasury
Job Summary
The Treasury Analyst is responsible for supporting the execution of funding and investment activities, assisting in daily liquidity management, and performing transaction settlement and reconciliation. The role also includes preparing treasury reports, monitoring compliance with regulatory requirements, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure smooth treasury operations.
Mandate
- To assist the Head of Treasury in managing the Branch’s Treasury department
Key Tasks
- To liaise and communicate with and to report to with Head Office on departmental matters ensuring all Head Office policies and requirements are met, subject to local laws and regulations, as directed by Head and/or Deputy Head of department and/or Senior Management
- To perform tasks in accordance with Branch policies, procedures, manuals, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations
- To communicate and work closely with all department personnel as well as other departments to ensure smooth operation of the Branch
- Assist to formulate/maintain Treasury policy/procedure/manual and other Treasury documentations
- Assist in executing Treasury transactions
- Assist in developing the branch’s treasury business plans and strategies
- Assist in developing local funding program and diversify the branch’s funding source
- Assist in managing the branch’s liquidity, interest rate and foreign exchange risk and monitor the risk indicators closely
- Assist in preparing relevant Treasury reports for RMC and MC meeting
- Assist to manage/develop relationships with financial institution counterparty/client,
promoting CCB name and products/services, including funding program and Head Office RMB related products, in the market
- Assist to process financial institutions KYC/onboard
- Assist to process financial institutions credit line applications
- Assist in making financial markets research
- Assist to process Treasury transaction reconciliation and record keeping
- To perform any other tasks which Head/Deputy Head of Department assigned
Job Qualifications
Education & Training
- Undergraduate degree, preferably in accounting, business administration, finance, and/or economics
- MBA, CA or CFA, an asset
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of treasury experience in banking industry
- Local and offshore funding markets and a detailed knowledge of financial products including currency and financial derivatives
Skills
- Strong oral and written communication in English; Mandarin and simplified Chinese an asset
- Familiarity with PC based applications with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Detail oriented, organized, and proficient time/project management
- Positive and professional work attitude with strong integrity and work ethics
Abilities
- To perform tasks in accordance with Branch policies, procedures, manuals, ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations
- To communicate and work closely with all department personnel as well as other departments to ensure smooth operation of the Branch
- To work under pressure in a fast-paced workplace, balance multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
