Flying Dust First Nation Housing Department is seeking a qualified and motivated Electrician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems in residential housing and community-owned buildings.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical systems.
- Conduct inspections and identify electrical deficiencies in housing units.
- Install and replace electrical panels, breakers, wiring, switches, receptacles, and lighting fixtures.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable electrical codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Complete preventative maintenance and emergency repairs as required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used, and inspections performed.
- Work collaboratively with Housing Department staff, contractors, and community members.
- Promote and maintain a safe work setting at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum Third‑Year Construction Electrician Apprentice status registered with the Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trade Certification Commission (SATCC), or higher.
- Preference will be given to Fourth‑Year Apprentices, Journeyperson Electricians, and candidates holding a Red Seal Endorsement.
- Experience with residential electrical installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code and Saskatchewan electrical standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting electrical systems and identifying deficiencies.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
