About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join a growing organization with a diverse portfolio spanning real estate, construction, property management, and operating entities.

As a key member of the Finance Team, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the financial accuracy, integrity, and overall health of multiple entities. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this role will lead the day-to-day accounting function, oversee an accounting team, and provide timely and accurate financial information to support business decisions.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys bringing structure to complex environments, improving processes, strengthening internal controls, and developing high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes across multiple entities
- Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting working papers
- Oversee general ledger integrity, intercompany accounting, and account analysis
- Supervise, coach, and support the Accounting team
- Oversee the financial aspects of the tenant lifecycle, including accurate records, receivables administration, documentation, and system integrity
- Develop and improve accounting workflows, internal controls, and approval processes
- Monitor tenant and vendor account activity and identify issues requiring resolution
- Manage HST filings, remittances, and regulatory compliance




- Coordinate year-end audit preparation and respond to external accountant requests
- Partner with Property Management and other operational teams to support business objectives
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
- Provide financial insights and support to senior leadership as required

Qualifications & Experience

- CPA designation required
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or supervisory responsibilities
- Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close
- Solid knowledge of ASPE, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Advanced Excel skills with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Proven experience supervising, coaching, and developing accounting professionals
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to translate financial information into practical business insights
- Strong skilled judgment, discretion, and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Experience working in a multi-entity environment is a strong asset
- Experience in property management, real estate development, construction, or project accounting is an asset
- Experience with Yardi Voyager, Spectra, QuickBooks, or similar accounting/ERP systems is an asset
- Strong continuous-improvement mindset with an interest in building efficient and scalable processes
