Position Title: Heavy Equipment Technician (Apprentice)
Location: 135 High Plains Drive Rocky View County, Calgary Alberta
Duration: Full-time Position
Schedule: Wednesday to Saturday Day Shift 7am-5:30pm
Description:
TheApprentice HET/ Truck Mechanic is responsible for servicing and maintaining company equipment by using standard "Best Practices". Responsibilities will encompass diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting repairs, and performing preventive maintanance tasks to keep our fleet in optimal condition. Additonally, will collaborate with the maintance team, adhere to safety standards, and contribute to minimizing downtime and maximizing the efficiency of our trucking services.
Responsibilities
- Perform Scheduled Preventative Maintaince Inspections and repairs.
- Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting.
- Work towards meeting industry standard repair times for assigned repairs.
- Train on and stay current with current technologies.
- Maintain work areas of shop to meet health and safety standards.
- Communicate issue/concerns to managers as needed.
- Will be required to work occasionally on weekends.
Requirements
- Apprentice mechanic with sound knowledge of shop practices.
- Must have own tools.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical problems while working with SRT.
- Self-motivated with a desire to meet and surpass company standards.
- Ability to use a computer to manage electronic punch times and payroll.
- Valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
- Exposed to exhaust gases vibrations, chemicals and shop noise.
- Ability to perform heavy work such as removing tractor wheel assemblies (120lbs).
