Cognizant will not sponsor work authorization for this role.Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Architect with 6 to 9 years of expertise in AS/400 Utilities, AS400/COBOL, COBOL/400, CLLE, DB2/400, and CLP. The ideal candidate will contribute cutting-edge solutions in the Cards & Payments domain while working in a hybrid model during day shifts. This role does not require travel.Responsibilities- Design and implement robust solutions using AS/400 Utilities to enhance system performance and reliability.- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate AS400/COBOL applications with existing systems for seamless operations.- Develop and maintain COBOL/400 programs ensuring high‑quality code and adherence to industry standards.- Utilize CLLE scripting to automate processes and improve efficiency across various platforms.- Optimize database performance by managing DB2/400 systems and implementing best practices.- Create and execute CLP scripts to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention.- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications for Cards & Payments solutions.- Provide technical expertise in the development and deployment of payment processing systems.- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards in the Cards & Payments domain to safeguard data integrity.- Conduct thorough testing and validation of systems to ensure functionality and performance.- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and maintain service quality.- Mentor junior developers by sharing knowledge and fostering a collaborative environment.- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in solutions.Qualifications- Possess solid experience in AS/400 Utilities, AS400/COBOL, COBOL/400, CLLE, DB2/400, and CLP.- Demonstrate expertise in the Cards & Payments domain is highly desirable.- Exhibit excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.- Show proficiency in database management and optimization techniques.- Have a solid understanding of regulatory compliance in payment systems.- Display effective communication skills for collaboration with diverse teams.- Hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.- Experience in hybrid work environments is advantageous.- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.- Familiarity with agile methodologies and project management tools.- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.- Strong analytical skills to assess system performance and suggest improvements.- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and business needs.Required QualificationsCandidates should have over 6+ years of hands‑on experience in the following skills.- MUST Have skills - C# Developer: C#, .Net experience, server‑side development, REST APIs, middleware integration.- Nice to have skills: relational databases, MongoDB, Redis.Salary and Other CompensationApplications will be accepted until April 27, 2026.The annual salary for this position is between CAD 80,000–110,000 base depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.Benefits- Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance- Paid holidays plus paid time off- Long‑term/Short‑term disability- Paid parental leaveDisclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
