Job Title: Full Stack Software Developer - Senior

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 3 days in office)

Duration: 85 Business Days with possible extension

Pay Rate: CAD $100 per hour

Role Overview

This is a Senior Software Developer - UI/Backend role focused on modernizing and supporting legacy government applications. You’ll be responsible for full SDLC activities, including design, development, coding, testing, debugging, database development, deployment, and defect resolution. The role has a strong Java/backend and UI development component, including Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, Angular, Node.js, Oracle/PL/SQL, web services, and relational databases.

Must Have:

- Years of experience: 10+ years.
- Experience with Java, J2EE, EJB, STRUTS, Spring Boot, Web Services, XML, UI development, Angular, Node.JS, DevOps and tools, Agile, SCRUM, Lean, PDF, report generation, AODA, PL/SQL, Database development, Shell scripting, Oracle, IBM Websphere, Vulnerability assessment/resolution.
- Robust experience in interfacing with relational databases utilizing Java.
- Understanding of Oracle Forms/Reports, Oracle Application Suite, ability to extract usable information from Oracle forms/reports applications.

Role and responsibilities.

- Lead development activities across the full SDLC, including analysis, design, coding, integration, unit testing, defect resolution, and implementation.
- Design and develop web-based user interfaces for Ministry staff to correct and manage data.
- Develop SQL queries, scripts, and application components to migrate source data to target databases.
- Design, develop, and integrate application components, database connections, web interfaces, and proof-of-concept solutions.
- Work closely with Business Analysts, QA Analysts,



architects, and project teams to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Provide recommendations on solution design, coding practices, technical impacts, and implementation options.
- Conduct code/design reviews and perform unit, functional, regression, load, and performance testing, including defect resolution and tuning.
- Prepare code releases and deployment packages, and coordinate deployments across test, staging, and production environments.
- Identify and resolve application performance and availability issues in collaboration with technical teams.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, source code, database schemas, deployment specifications, and support procedures.
- Ensure all deliverables comply with Government of Ontario IT Standards (GO ITS 54) and applicable development standards.
- Provide accurate development estimates and support review of estimates and deliverables from other team members.
- Lead defect resolution activities during acceptance testing and obtain required technical and business approvals for releases.
- Participate in project meetings, workshops, demos, and status reporting; communicate progress, risks, issues, and recommendations.
