cost accountant

*Job Summary*The *Cost Accountant* is responsible for supporting and overseeing daily costing activities, performing detailed job cost analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of inventory and production cost tracking.This role works closely with cross-functional departments to analyze cost data, maintain accurate financial records, support operational decision-making, and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The position also assists with reporting, reconciliations, month-end activities, and continuous improvement initiatives related to costing and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform detailed job cost analysis for mix and finished goods production
- Prepare daily telemarketing inventory count sheets
- Generate shunt lists to support inventory balancing at the distribution facility
- Coordinate outside storage loads and purchase order pickups for finished goods
- Prepare and present cost reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis
- Create and maintain bills of materials (BOM) and update standard costs as required
- Work closely with the Costing Manager and other team members
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to ensure accurate inventory and cost tracking

Qualifications & Requirements

- 2?4 years of experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or production workplace
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and Adobe
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Syspro or Solochain) is an asset
- Strong knowledge of costing principles, inventory management, and production processes
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges

Qualifications

- College diploma or University degree in Accounting, Finance,



or Business Administration

Compensation

- At Chapman?s, compensation is guided by a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes and rewards individual contributions.
- Salary Range $75,000 to $85,000
- annually, based on experience, skills, and internal equity.
