This role is responsible for the effective delivery and continuous improvement of environmental cleaning and disinfection, housekeeping, waste management, and linen services across the organization.**WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:****Leadership/Administrative*** Oversees development of policies and procedures to ensure that the department functions in accordance with federal and provincial regulations, accreditation and skilled standards.* Facilitates continuous quality improvement initiatives and implements innovative process improvements.* Ensures the completion of quality assurance inspections, generation and distribution of performance reports, and execution of corrective actions.* Ensures appropriate processes and controls are in place at the unit level to efficiently manage resources (i.E. supplies)* Acts as liaison and maintain positive relationships with our unions.**Human Resources Management*** Recruits, hires, evaluates, disciplines, terminates staff.* Establishes performance expectations, both individual and team directed.* Ensures staff scheduling, work assignments, payroll functions and attendance management are carried out.* Facilitates professional development/training opportunities.* Ensures a safe working environment for staff.* Analyzes workload statistics* Ensures the Collective Agreement is followed regarding overtime, vacation, lieu time, scheduling,



etc.**Financial*** Prepares the annual budget in relation to salaries, capital equipment, staffing and linen, providing variance reports, trend analysis as required.* Develops cost analysis for various vendors to ensure Hospital is receiving optimum pricing for services, supplies, etc.* Develops proposals for capital requests.* Maintains a balanced operating budget.**Technical*** Manages the change process of implementing new processes and procedures.* Responds to all requests/complaints directed to the department.* Liaises with other hospital departments to coordinate activities i.E. Infection Control.* Maintains liaison with regulatory bodies and awareness of regulations impacting the department.* Maintains necessary statistics and reports.* Manages all aspects/utilization of service level agreements throughout the organization**WHAT YOU BRING:*** Demonstrates knowledge of clinical practice.* Agent of change with ability to envision new concepts and plans.* Ability to manage, energize, coach, encourage and support all staff.* Ability to work with all health disciplines to achieve excellent quality of care.* Demonstrated excellence and capabilities in interpersonal, communication, customer service, analytical approach, problem solving, and critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership skills.* Proven leadership abilities working with larger interdisciplinary teams.* Significant previous line management responsibility.* Demonstrated forward thinking, creative and collaborative management style.* Demonstrated ability in Southlake’s core values of Always with Compassion, Power of Many, Serve with Purpose, Every voice matters and Courage to Think Differently.* Minimum of five (5) years recent and related management experience, preferably in a Clinical environment.* University degree or College diploma in a related field.* Experience utilizing, analyzing and reporting on data* Superior skills in engaging others* Demonstrates a clear understanding of the application of the RHPA, Public Hospitals Act and other related legislation* Demonstrates superior understanding of systems, system analysis techniques, value analysis process and continuous improvement principles and tools.Southlake Health is fully committed to a culture of belonging and an inclusive environment that encourages every team member to lead within their role,
