As an Emergency Response Operator at GFL, you will be tasked with vital responsibilities ranging from environmental clean-up to technical rescue operations. This role requires a solid background in fire, medical, or police training, as well as experience with hazardous materials. Your expertise will contribute to effective incident mitigation and chemical firefighting efforts within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct environmental clean-up activities at emergency sites • Ensure effective hazardous-materials incident mitigation • Perform technical rescue and chemical transfer tasks • Participate in health and safety training regularly • Respond promptly to various emergencies as needed
Requirements: • Post-secondary education in a relevant field • NFPA 472 Hazardous Material Operations certification • DZ license with a suitable driver’s abstract • On-call availability for emergency situations • Valid First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
