Our client is a well‑established and growing organization seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee financial operations and support strategic business decisions. Location
- Agassiz, BC
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Start Date: ASAP
- Salary: $110K to $125K annually
- Job Type: Temporary to Permanent
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Overseeing all aspects of accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and reconciliations.
- Managing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including intercompany transactions.
- Preparing accurate and timely financial statements and management reports.
- Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans aligned with business objectives.
- Conducting financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal financial policies.
- Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision‑making.
- Managing relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
- Utilizing accounting systems and tools (e.g., Sage, Power BI, or similar) to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Corporate Controller, or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting principles.
- Proficiency with accounting software and financial systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing accounting or finance teams.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a quick‑paced environment.
