Embark on a fully funded PhD program focusing on innovative CO2 utilisation techniques, with an annual tax-free stipend set at the UKRI rate of £21,805. This exciting research targets geothermal heat extraction through various computational frameworks.

This 3.5-year research project invites candidates with a strong academic background in science or engineering. You will develop simulation techniques and computer programs to enhance energy efficiency and conduct thorough analyses of multi-phase flow performance in porous media. Knowledge of programming is highly advantageous for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:



• Develop computational frameworks for CO2 utilisation methodologies • Conduct thermodynamic and techno-economic analyses • Simulate multi-phase flow performance in porous media • Estimate energy efficiency of developed techniques • Collaborate with research teams to refine models

Requirements: • Minimum 2.1 honours degree or international equivalent • Master’s degree in relevant discipline is acceptable • Solid knowledge of computer programming is desirable • Motivated to explore innovative geothermal solutions • Willing to contribute to research advancements
