As a full-time Legal Assistant, you will offer essential administrative support to lawyers in the Indigenous Justice Centres. This role involves managing legal documents, updating client files, and contributing to the overall wellness of the IJC team. Your collaborative work environment prioritizes respect and cultural understanding while addressing systemic barriers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft and process legal documents for IJC
• Maintain accurate client files using Clio
• Organize and manage legal documentation and disclosures




• Coordinate the lawyer’s calendar effectively
• Attend community engagements to foster relationships
Requirements:
• 2+ years of legal assistant experience
• Respect for Indigenous practices and culture
• Proficient in computer applications and Clio
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
• Explicit criminal record check as part of hiring
