Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Analyst to ensure the quality of our transactional warehouse and IFRS17 Finance Systems impacting management reporting and financial statements. The ideal candidate will have a solid analytical background, with experience in finance systems and a solid understanding of the property and casualty insurance sector, essential for supporting system testing from a finance user’s perspective. What you’ll do here Collaborate with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and business analysts, to understand requirements and define testing traceability matrix. Provide input for test planning and strategy, including estimations and preparation of comprehensive documentation for test cases and test scenarios, ensuring clarity, detail and accuracy. Communicate test cases and test scenarios to all relevant stakeholders, ensuring alignment on testing objectives, expectations and robust test coverage. Lead the execution of both manual and automated test cases, ensuring thorough validation of software functionality and performance against defined requirements and the applicable provisions of IFRS17. Lead the defect reporting process, ensure that all identified defects are logged accurately, prioritized, and tracked through resolution using established methodologies. Collaborate with the development team to ensure swift communication and resolution of issues,
and provide clear reports on defect status and impact to relevant stakeholders. Proactively monitor and assess risks against the testing plan, propose mitigation plans and align with the impacted stakeholders. Continuously analyze and improve test planning and strategy processes to enhance their effectiveness and efficiency, contributing to overall success. Proficiency in working with transactional databases and executing queries to conduct data analysis on financial results is considered an asset. What you bring to the table Degree in Business, IT, Finance/Accounting, or equivalent. Minimum of 5 years of experience working on financial or compliance systems; direct experienceworking with Finance teams. Proven experience in a large company or large-scale organization. Knowledge of P&C Insurance Business, IFRS 17; ability to test in the context of month-end close, materiality, and controls. Excellent communication skills, rigor, and strong sense of internal control; proficiency with Excel,Jira, Snowflake, and RDBMS (MS SQL/Toad). No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada. Bilingualism. Need to interact on a regular basis with colleagues across the country.
