We are seeking a dedicated and responsible Dog Walker to join our pet care team. The ideal candidate will enjoy working outdoors (rain or shine), have a passion for animals, and provide exceptional care and attention to our clients' dogs. This role offers an opportunity to build relationships with pets and their owners while ensuring protected and enjoyable walks. The Dog Walker will be a key part of maintaining our reputation for reliable and loving pet care services.
Waggr is looking for a dog walker in Regent Park/Downtown Toronto East Side vicinity.
You MUST live in the area to be considered for the position.
Responsibilities
Take dogs on scheduled walks, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the outing
Follow specific instructions provided by pet owners regarding walking routes, feeding, or special needs
Maintain a clean and protected environment during walks, including cleaning up after pets
Communicate effectively with pet owners about their dog’s behavior or any concerns during walks
Provide basic companionship and reassurance to dogs during walks, ensuring they are comfortable and happy
Report any health or behavioral issues observed during walks to the appropriate supervisor or pet owner
Requirements
Passion for animals and previous experience with dog walking or pet care is preferred but not required
Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners and address their concerns
Reliable transportation to travel between client locations if necessary
Ability to handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
Excellent time management skills to adhere to scheduled walk times
Physical ability to walk outdoors for extended periods, often in varying weather conditions
Responsible, punctual, and trustworthy with a genuine love for animals
Up to date police record check (walker to provide)
Job Types: Part time, Freelance Pay: Up to $25.00 per hour
