Overview

I am seeking a female dedicated Disability Support Worker to provide compassionate care and support to an individual with disabilities. As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide essential care and support to an individual with disabilities, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. This is a rewarding chance to make a positive impact on the lives of others.

Responsibilities
Assist individual with daily living activities such as household chores, cooking/baking, crafting, bike riding, nature walks, swimming and volunteering on a hobby farm
Provide emotional support and companionship to the individual in your care as well as engage in meaningful activities with individual, promoting social interaction and mental stimulation
Driving client to and from scheduled activities and appointments, shopping, volunteer opportunities and any other scheduled activities
Collaborate and communicate with Family Managed Administrator/Guardian on a daily basis to develop and implement individualized care plans
Contract overnight respite on weekends at your home once a month may be included
Communicate/report any changes in individual's health or behavior




Some flexibility with Guardian's work schedule and having individual at employee's own home on occasion (hours mostly Mon-Thurs, 8am-4pm & Fri, 8am-1pm)

Experience -Previous experience in education assistant, caregiving, homecare, disability caregiver or related field is preferred
A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with individuals with disabilities
A criminal record check before start of position
Strong communication skills and empathy towards individuals with disabilities
First Aid Certificate is required (this can done as part of job training if needed)
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Prefer a female worker therefore only females will be considered for the position
