We are seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Choir Leader to bring harmony, energy, and passion to our musical community. In this vital role, you will lead choir rehearsals, coordinate performances, and foster a welcoming environment where singers of all levels can grow and thrive. Your leadership will ignite the joy of singing, strengthen community bonds, and elevate our musical offerings through agile direction and transparent communication. This paid position offers an exciting prospect to influence lives. Roughly 6 hours per weekend is expected.
Salary is negotiable upon hire.
Responsibilities
Lead choir rehearsals with engaging instruction, ensuring all members understand musical pieces and performance goals
Coordinate performance schedules, including concerts, community events, and special occasions
Develop rehearsal plans that balance technical skill-building with artistic expression
Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that encourages participation and teamwork among choir members
Provide constructive feedback to help singers improve their vocal techniques and confidence
Collaborate with other musicians, event organizers,
and community leaders to plan successful performances
Write or adapt music arrangements as needed to suit the choir’s repertoire and skill levels
Skills
Excellent communication skills to clearly convey musical concepts and motivate singers
Strong public speaking abilities for engaging rehearsals and performances
Proven teaching skills to guide singers of diverse backgrounds and experience levels
Writing skills for creating rehearsal notes, music arrangements, or promotional materials
Passion for choral music with a deep understanding of vocal techniques and musical styles
Ability to inspire teamwork, patience, and enthusiasm within a group setting
Organizational skills to manage schedules, repertoire, and performance logistics
