The Purchasing and Warehouse Manager is responsible to competitively procure, warehouse and co-ordinate the delivery of various tools, supplies and outside services to multiple job locations around the region within project dictated timelines. This will include forecasting, along with upper management, requirements of upcoming jobs to ensure adequate inventory of appropriate stock in house and collaborating with field management regularly to ensure their needs are met during project execution.
The successful candidate will be highly organized, efficient and work well in a fast-paced setting. The candidate will demonstrate problem solving skills and exercise professional judgement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Control the purchasing of materials, contracts, and other goods and services
Maintain standard inventory stock in the warehouse
Oversee the negotiations of all purchases made by the purchasing department
Negotiate on behalf of the organization and maintain positive relationships with vendors
Manage loss-control and inventory management systems
Develop and implement purchasing policies
Be available on cell phone at all times while on shift
Adhere to all safety requirements, as per company policies,
including clean shaven and no hooded garments to be worn during office hours
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
High school diploma.
Secondary school diploma or certificate in a related field is considered an asset.
Combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing role preferably with project construction.
Experience in pipeline construction is considered an asset.
Skills and Knowledge
Understanding of the pipeline construction industry preferred.
Comfortable with technology and curious about technological innovation and streamlining.
Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Exceptionally well organized with an aptitude for data
Accuracy and attention to detail
Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is office based and works in our Fort St John, BC office/warehouse.
Schedule will include a rotating shift to ensure weekend coverage.
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
