Meridian Hauling is currently seeking a self-motivated, experienced, full time, licensed, 3rd or 4th year heavy duty diesel apprentice to journeyman designation to work on our growing fleet of trucks. We have a fleet of 15 hook lift trucks that require regular maintenance and upkeep to keep them looking and operating like recent.

Electrical and electronic system
Diesel engines
Diagnostics
Brake system
Hydraulic system and power take offs
Fuel and emission system
Ignition and electrical system
Engine repair
Welding and Metal Fabrication
Truck-trailer repair
Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system

Responsibilities:
Complete thorough and quality diagnostic, service, and repair of heavy duty
Identify potential and future problems
Make recommendations on repairs or replacement parts
Road test the unit to ensure quality of work completed
Document repairs, parts, or problems encountered during repair process on repair order
List parts and supplies as needed
Maintain a clean and secure work environment
Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change





Qualifications:
3rd or 4th Year Heavy Duty Apprentice to Journeyman Designation
Safety Inspections Certificate an asset
Air Brake Endorsement is an asset
Truck and Coach Service Licence (310T)
Interest in continually upgrading skills and knowledge in trade
Valid Class Three with Air Driver's License an asset (for road tests)
Team player with strong commitment to doing high quality work
Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Ability to lift 75 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
Familiar with the tools of the trade and personally equipped with adequate supply of hand tool
Valid driver's licence
