The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the hotel operates safely, efficiently, and reliably every day.
Plan, organize, and supervise the daily activities of the maintenance department in accordance with the operational requirements.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and building systems.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.
Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and equipment records.
Coordinate maintenance work to minimize disruption to guests and other departments
Oversee the operation and maintenance of:
HVAC systems
Electrical systems
Plumbing systems
Boilers and hot water systems
Fire alarm and life safety systems
Elevators (through certified contractors)
Kitchen and laundry equipment
Swimming pool and spa equipment (if applicable)
Coordinate inspections and servicing by external contractors.
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety legislation, hotel policies.
Maintain compliance with fire, building, and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
Participate in Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) initiatives where applicable.
Ensure emergency procedures and equipment are maintained and operational.
Support a secure and respectful workplace in accordance with labour relations standards and anti-harassment policies.
Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in a hotel or commercial facility.
