Qualifications:
Personal Support Worker Diploma; minimum 600 hours in duration; or Nursing Student
Qualifications in accordance with the FLTC Act and Regulations.
Previous Experience working in a Retirement or Long Term Care setting preferred;
Ability to work well with others in a team approach, and adapt to changing situations;
Physically capable of performing assigned duties within a versatile work schedule inside a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation;
Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, and other personal care duties;
Excellent teamwork and team building skills
Excellent attendance and reliability required

Key Responsibilities:
Performs all duties with an acceptable standard of skill and with a sense of responsibility - those functions which provide for the basic care of Residents




Assists in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in the Residents physical and emotional condition.
Knows the guidelines of care of his/her assigned Residents as outlined in the Resident care plans. Gives nursing care according to these guidelines.
Participates in the overall activation process developed by the facility to promote the well-being of each Resident (physical, spiritual, social and emotional).
Performs personal care and selected nursing measures to promote comfort and safety for the Resident in accordance with the standards of Resident care.
Assists with the maintenance of records reflecting each Resident's condition, care and specific treatments.
Maintains effective communication and valuable human relations with Residents, families and staff of other departments, using the appropriate lines of communication
