The Equipment Operator will be responsible for the secure operation of a variety of heavy equipment (excavators, loaders, dozers, skid steers). This position prefers a person with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The Equipment Operator must be able to follow procedures to ensure the proper operation of equipment. The Equipment Operator will also perform routine maintenance on equipment and perform other duties as assigned.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
Operate machinery, equipment, and tools in a secure, effective, and consistent manner
Perform routine maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools
Ensure equipment is locked and night switches turned off before leaving worksite
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and tools and inspect for defects.
Ensure that work areas are free of debris and are clean enough to conform to safety standards.
Ensure cabs are free of garbage and personal effects after every shift.
Keep logs of work performed and
Ensure that work is performed in a timely manner according to OK Excavating policies and procedures
Follow all company policies and procedures; maintain a good working relationship with team members; show respect for others at all times
All other duties as assigned by Management
Position may require some labour
You will be expected to be on time and be prepared for work with appropriate PPE.
Qualifications:
Crushing experience an asset.
First aid certification an asset.
Pipe laying experience an asset.
Responsible, ambitious, and seeking advancement.
Can-do attitude and strong common sense an asset.
Foreman experience also an asset.
Prefer candidates with at lease one year equipment operation experience.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
