Job Summary:

The Environmental Worker is responsible to the Director of Support Services. To assist in meeting the needs of the residents by providing a clean, protected, comfortable environment in accordance with the facility and departmental policies.

Qualifications and Personal Attributes:
Must have a Nova Scotia Grade XII or equivalent and be able to follow verbal and written instructions without direct supervision




Must have experience in housekeeping and laundry duties in Homes for Special Care
Must be physically and mentally able to perform job duties with a minimum of supervision
Must be able to work well with all levels of staff
Must have empathy with the residents
Must be a dependable and a responsible person
Must not be allergic to cleaning products
Must be able to read and understand labels
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
Sewing ability is an asset
Must be neat and clean
Must wear uniforms and proper footwear
Make up and jewelry to be conservative
