Intermediate Building Science Project ManagerLocation: North York / Toronto, ON (Hybrid with Site Travel)Salary: 75K to 95K per annum with benefits (Based on experience)Job Type: Full-Time, PermanentOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Intermediate Building Science Project Manager to lead building assessments and rehabilitation projects across a diverse portfolio of industrial, commercial, institutional, and healthcare facilities.This role involves managing projects from initial site investigation through reporting and client presentation, with a solid focus on building performance, durability, and long-term asset management.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct site investigations and building evaluations (roofs, façades, terraces, parking structures, etc.)Perform Building Condition Assessments (BCA), Reserve Fund Studies (RFS), and Building Performance Audits (BPA)Prepare detailed technical reports, including findings, recommendations, and life-cycle cost analysisDevelop capital repair and replacement plans and rehabilitation strategiesReview building envelope systems (roofing, waterproofing, glazing, cladding, concrete) and identify deficienciesManage projects from initiation to completion, including client presentationsCoordinate with clients, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver cost-effective solutionsMentor junior team members and support report preparationMaintain strong, client-facing relationshipsMust-Have RequirementsP.Eng. (Ontario)
– requiredProven experience with:Building Condition Assessments (BCA)Reserve Fund Studies (RFS)Building Performance Audits (BPA)Strong understanding of the Ontario Building CodeValid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (travel required; expenses reimbursed)Strong written and verbal communication skills (client-facing role)Comfortable with hands-on site work (roofs, terraces, parking structures, etc.)Qualifications & Experience4–6+ years of experience in Building Science (consulting or contracting preferred)Degree in Engineering or Applied ScienceStrong project management and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyExcellent technical writing and analytical skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environmentProject Experience (Required Visibility)Experience across both new build and retrofit projectsExample: 70% retrofit / 30% new build (flexible, but must be clearly outlined)Projects & Work EnvironmentStrong and growing project pipeline driven by ongoing acquisitionsStable organization with no layoffs and strong focus on internal promotions and career growthProject exposure across:IndustrialCommercialInstitutionalHealthcare / HospitalsEducationalMission-critical facilitiesEntertainmentCompensation & BenefitsSalary: $75,000 – $95,000 (Intermediate level, based on experience)Annual Bonus: Based on company, team, and individual performanceBenefits: Begin after 1 monthEmployee Share Purchase Program availableWorking ConditionsHybrid role with frequent site visits across the GTAOccasional flexibility required for site access and project needsHands-on fieldwork required as part of assessments
