Canada Post is seeking Mail Service Couriers (Class 1, 2, or 3F) in Québec, QC on a temporary, on-call basis. As online shopping grows, we have prospects for Class 3/D skilled drivers with an appropriate provincial Air Brake Endorsement to be part of our dynamic team.

As a temporary, on-call Mail Service Courier, you will join a team of drivers who are available to work locally on short notice. You will use a corporate vehicle to pick up and deliver mail and load/unload postal vehicles.

Responsibilities
Load and unload postal vehicles while keeping mail and Canada Post property protected and secure at all times
Collect, sort and deliver mail
Operate portable communications devices
Perform vehicle safety checks
Complete documentation and maintain records
Communicate with customers and the public
Shuttle corporate delivery vehicles between parking location and loading platforms to facilitate pre-loading

Required Qualifications
A valid Class 3/D driver's licence (or higher) with the appropriate provincial air brake endorsements




A safe driving record for at least 3 years (recent driver's abstract or a commercial driver's abstract dated within the last 30 days will be required)
The physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb)
The availability to work on short notice
French language skills (French Essential)

Assets
Experience in customer service
Experience as professional driver in commercial delivery
Experience driving a 5 ton truck or larger

Note: Only candidates holding a Class 1 or Class 3 driver's licence with an air brake (F) endorsement will be considered.

Pay: $23.81 per hour. On-the-job training provided. Opportunities for permanent employment available.
